September 2026: Things I'm Loving This Month
Hello September. 🍂✨
I've always loved knowing what other creative people are actually into right now.
Not necessarily the biggest trends.
The song they've had on repeat.
The random object they suddenly can't live without.
The photograph saved in their camera roll.
The tiny ritual making their mornings better.
The thing they discovered at 11:47 p.m. and immediately sent to a friend.
So I'm starting a little tradition here.
Every month, I'm collecting the things currently making my world a little more interesting.
Welcome to Things I'm Loving This Month.
🎧 Listening: BTS
Okay. This one arrived unexpectedly. 😂💜
After seeing BTS live in Toronto, I started listening differently.
Beyond the scale of the performances, I've been fascinated by how much personality, visual thinking and intention can exist inside one creative universe.
I've been returning to the music since the show, but also thinking about something bigger:
What makes art stay with you after the moment is over?
Apparently that's the question September has handed me.
📸 Creating: photos that aren't trying so hard
I'm craving photographs that look like moments lately.
Movement.
Blur.
Strange crops.
Tiny expressions.
The second right before someone realizes they're being photographed.
I've spent so many years learning how to control a photograph that right now I'm interested in leaving a little room for accidents.
Not everything needs to look perfectly produced to be worth keeping.
Sometimes the imperfection is the photograph.
💗 Wearing: something that makes an ordinary day an occasion
September always gives me that new chapter energy.
So I'm bringing a little more intention into what I wear, even when nothing particularly exciting is happening.
The cute outfit doesn't need to wait for dinner.
The perfume doesn't need an occasion.
The lipstick doesn't need plans.
Sometimes getting ready is the plan.
🏠 Ritual: making my space somewhere I want to create
I've been thinking a lot about the relationship between our environment and our creativity.
When my surroundings become chaotic, my brain eventually joins them. 😂
So I'm returning to something very simple:
Put things away.
Open the curtains.
Make the bed.
Turn on a lamp.
Put on music.
Then create.
Not because your home needs to look Pinterest-perfect before you're allowed to make something.
Quite the opposite.
I'm learning to make tiny changes that tell my brain:
We're creating here.
🎬 Watching: artists being artists
BTS, Arirang World Tour
Toronto, August 23, 2026
I'm particularly interested right now in watching creators outside the finished product.
Behind-the-scenes footage.
Interviews.
Studio sessions.
Photoshoot diaries.
Creative direction.
The conversations around why somebody chose that light, that costume, that lyric or that frame.
The finished thing is beautiful.
But lately I'm fascinated by the decisions that created it.
✨ Learning: your taste is trying to tell you something
I've been paying closer attention to the things I keep saving.
Not because they're trendy.
Because something about them makes my brain light up.
Old photographs.
Jazz.
Editorial portraits.
Soft pink.
Cinematic lighting.
Beautiful typography.
Playfulness mixed with something a little deeper.
Instead of immediately asking How could I turn this into content?, I'm trying another question:
Why do I love this?
Your answers start revealing your taste.
And your taste eventually finds its way into your work.
☁️ Remembering: consume less, experience more
This might be the biggest thing I'm carrying into September.
We're surrounded by so much.
Songs.
Videos.
Photographs.
Posts.
Ideas.
Sometimes we move through them so quickly that we barely let anything reach us before the next thing arrives.
I don't want to experience art like that.
If a song moves me, I want to listen again.
If a photograph stops me, I want to actually look at it.
If someone's work makes me curious, I want to understand why.
Art isn't only something to consume.
It's something we're allowed to experience.
And sometimes experiencing somebody else's creativity is exactly what wakes up your own.
Your September spark
Before you leave, make your own tiny list.
One song you're replaying.
One thing you're creating.
One thing you're wearing constantly.
One ritual making life better.
One thing you're watching.
One thing you're learning.
One thing you want to remember.
Save it somewhere.
Then come back next month.
I'm curious what will change.
See you in October. 💗✨
